Buying or not buying business software?

We’ve written a piece on the modern alternatives to buying software, namely Freemium and Open Source systems. Many companies now use a mix of paid for and free software, as do we – we use both Microsoft and Linux server software, and the MySQL database.

The article lists a number of categories where you can replace paid for software with free systems, such as backup and office products, and is published by SMEWeb.

  1. hello, thanks for your recent and informative newsletter. your free system offers two users and 100 companies. can i have one user and 200 companies instead please?

      Good idea but we can’t do that I’m afraid! Data storage costs us money, and so we have to limit the amount of data our Free Edition customers have.
