Not-for-Profit CRM Case Study
About African Prison Project
African Prison Project is a UK registered charity working to provide dignity, education, healthcare and access to justice to prisoners in Uganda and Kenya. Founded in 2007, the charity was originally set up as a student society at Nottingham University after founder, Alexander McLean, spent much of his gap year treating prisoners in a Ugandan hospital and seeing first-hand the abysmal treatment and living conditions of the prisoners there.
Samantha Logan, the Executive Assistant for the founder, joined the charity in January 2016. She immediately recognised the need for a CRM system within the organisation “There was no logical way in which information was being held. We have a team here in the UK as well as one in Uganda and in Kenya. With so many of us working in different places information was being stored on individual laptops and was not shared within the organisation.” Sam continues “There was no record of contact details being stored anywhere and there wasn’t a way to schedule follow ups to make sure we were keeping in touch with our donors.”
What do you like most about Really Simple Systems CRM?
“What makes Really Simple Systems great for our organisation is that is so easy to set up and use I can train my own people to use it. I discovered Really Simple Systems after searching for CRMs online. I read some really good reviews about the CRM from other users and decided to try it out and I haven’t looked back since! Really Simple Systems CRM is just that, a simple system that is quick and reliable to use – It does what it says on the tin.”
What has been the biggest benefit of using Really Simple Systems CRM?
“When you’re a small charity it can be very easy to be re-active rather than proactive. Really Simple Systems gives us the ability to organise what we do and make sure we’re staying on track.” Sam goes on to say “Previously we didn’t have a way to keep in touch with donors but since signing up with Really Simple Systems we have been able to send out our first email newsletter letting our donors know what we are doing and making sure we maintain that important connection with them. We are still in the process of getting our data in order and making sure we are importing up to date contact details to the system., after all a CRM system is only as good as the data you are storing on it”
What would you say to anyone looking at Really Simple Systems?
“Don’t hesitate to try it out! Really Simple System is a great CRM system that is easy to use. Their support team is amazing, whenever I’ve needed help in the past I’ve always had a member of their team get back to me promptly and without any problems. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Really Simple Systems CRM to absolutely everyone!”
